Question: How do I determine which product and version I have?

Answer: By way of the DigitalPersona system tray icon, you can begin obtaining the product name and version as follows. (If you do not have or cannot locate the DigitalPersona tray icon click here)

The Microsoft Windows "System Tray" is by default in the lower right the screen, near the clock. One of these icons should appear in the tray.

STEP 1: Click (Right or Left) on the DigitalPersona system tray icon

STEP 2: Select the "About" or "Properties" option; you will see one of the following example screens below

STEP 3: Identify your product and version

If you are running PRO Workgroup 5.x you will see this:

f you are running DigitalPersona PERSONAL 4.x you will see this:

Answer: By way of the Start Menu you can obtain the product name and version from the Windows Start Menu as follows. (If there is no DigitalPersona program group off the Start menu click here)

STEP 1: Click the Windows Start button

STEP 2: Click All Programs

STEP 3: Click the DigitalPersona software product name, such as Pro or Personal. At this point you have the DigitalPersona software product name. This should be enough information to continue on in the AskPersona self help support site; however you can continue with the following steps to additionally obtain the product version.

Optional STEP 4 for DigitialPersona Pro Workgroup Workstation 5.x:

Open the dashboard
In the lower left of the dashboard choose Advanced
From the Advanced menu choose About

Verify your identity within the Personal software
Access Properties
select the About tab
If you are running DigitalPersona PERSONAL 4.x you will see this:

Click Properties
Select the About tab - this shows the version number
If you are running DigitalPersona PRO 4.3.x you will see this:

Answer (By way of the Add/Remove function): You can obtaining the product name and version from the Windows Control Panel's Add / Remove Programs - be sure not to remove anything - just look here.

STEP 1: Click the Windows Start button

STEP 2: Click Control Panel

STEP 3: Double-click Add or Remove Programs

STEP 4: Set Sort by to Name and find the Currently installed program starting with the words DigitalPersona.

STEP 5: Note the DigitalPersona product name and version number

STEP 6: Exit out of Add or Remove Programs without removing anything
